Lennar, one of the largest home builders in the US, engaged us to streamline the inconsistent experiences across their multiple products. We audited seven of their current products and developed a solution to unify them into a consistent and cohesive experience. This resulted in the creation of a universal design system that sets the foundation and stores reusable components for their digital products. The design system is now used to reskin existing products and provides guidelines for building new products with a consistent UI/UX.

I contributed by creating design foundations and reusable components, complete with full documentation.

I collaborated with four designers and clients under the supervision of a design director.

Lennar Design System

The project began with a 13-week phase dedicated to building the core of the design system, followed by an additional 4 weeks to refine the system based on feedback and testing results.

Timeline

Work Track

We extensively used Kanban and roadmap tools to keep the team on track with tasks and facilitate easy communication of updates.

I believe that UI/UX should align with the brand experience. I reviewed all available client brand documentation and distilled it into essential principles to guide the design system.

Brand Audit

From the audit of seven products, I identified and documented repetitive use cases and assets. In the design system, our top priority was to address these use cases and provide clear guidelines for managing these assets.

Product Audit

To stay updated on industry trends, common UI/UX assets, and design system structures, I created a resource library for the team. This library featured numerous examples of well-established design systems, both private and public. Additionally, I held a series of in-person meetings with the design advisor to establish direction and develop step-by-step execution plans.
